A Journey of Life in Yichang
Everyone has his or her own special decision in his or her life, and it changes people's life sometimes. For me, "To live in China or not, that is my question." I decided to go to China and to be a doctor by myself, and I never knew that it would change my life.
大家好, I’m Ashik Houlader, a graduated student from 2015 Batch of MBBS. I come from Bangladesh which is a small country blessed by nature. I have graduated from CTGU in September 2020. In my journey of 6 years, this beautiful city Yichang and CTGU have taught me how to enjoy life, how to be honest and steadfast as the mountain, and how to keep going as flow of the river. I would like to thank all our university leaders, our respected teachers and all my friends for making my journey momentous and unforgettable.

At first, I felt like a fish jumping into a dry boat and trying to find a way out because I arrived in china and faced lots of challenges. The language, food, and levels of Science and Technology among many other things. By time, I started enjoying the culture, language, food and all. This was only possible because of our supportive teachers. I'm the batch monitor of 2015 batch. Prior to our 1st semester class, the monitorship was assigned by one of my favorite teachers David Sir. He was more than a teacher to us. Whenever I went to him for any work or something, he always approached with a smile.

The very first class of my MBBS program was General Chinese, I was very excited for it. When I stepped on S building, I felt so good, and thought how lucky I was! Aha! I still remember how Zhong laoshi used to teach us Chinese. I was very surprised to see that all of our teachers were very student-friendly. To make us study well, they tried to motivate us and help us whenever we need. The journey from Cell Biology lab to Operation theatre was possible because of my teachers' care-concerns, support and obviously my hard work. S building was like my land where I was cultivating my dreams. I have got amazing teachers from each and every subjects I studied. Our TMO teachers always tried to make us studious. Vicky Ma’am told us that don’t forget why you were here! That piece of talk motivated me a lot. Shirley Ma’am sometimes came to inspect us during our class time. The historic fingerprint attendance hahaha!!! My days were so colorful and amazing.

Medical study is very hectic. I have got amazing friends, because of them I was never bored of my studies and all. We used to roam around the city, explored the natural beauty of the mighty Yichang. My favourite place in this city is Yangzte Rive-side area. The aesthetic views, the breeze, waves and sounds of river were my things to be happy. I am kinda person who likes to meet new people. I have got so many Chinese friends. I have visited many places with them. The Chinese people are full of hospitality, genuinely cooperative, wise-hearted with a welcoming nature. I love eating Chinese food. Trying new restaurant and new food was like our daily works.

As a student of CTGU, I saw many fancy things that I have never seen before and got to meet some talented people who were very smart and hardworking. My life has been enriched and my horizon has been broadened due to my staying in CTGU. What’s more, I have been more independent since I came to this university. I met people from different countries, even if we were from different countries, we could still share our ideas and stories. I have participated in different extracurricular activities, we performed in university’s programs which eventually helped me to enrich my interpersonal skills.
I would like to express my utmost regards to all the clinical doctors I came across during my pre-internship and internship period.I consider myself to be extremely privileged to have been their student. I benefited enormously from their excellence as teacher and doctor. They always tried to help me in the process of being a good doctor. They have taught me how to deal with different situations as a doctor.

To round off this I would like to tell you all that coming to CTGU has been the best decision in my life. It was an amazing and unique experience for me to live and study in China. Time has been flying fast, it’s hard to believe that I have reached to the end of my journey. Again, I would like to thank my teachers, my friends and senior-juniors for your love and making my journey memorable.
