About CTGU
Located in Yichang City, Hubei Province, CTGU is a comprehensive university jointly built by the Ministry of Water Resources and the People's Government of Hubei Province. In 2018, CTGU was selected to be developed into first-class universities in China by the provincial government. CTGU consists of 20 colleges and 75 undergraduate programs covering nine fields including science, engineering, medicine, arts, economics, management, law, education and fine arts. There are 4,485 doctoral candidates and postgraduates, 22,332 undergraduates and 1,400 international students of CSC Scholarship, Provincial Government Scholarship, Enterprise Scholarship and self-funded.
CTGU is a member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the permanent secretariat unit of N.E.W.S. It has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with more than 170 universities in more than 60 countries and regions. CTGU is the largest in terms of the number of international students and majors, with English as instruction language, among Hubei provincial universities.
About Medical College
The college has 6 undergraduate majors including Clinical Medicine, Medical Imaging, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Preventive Medicine , among which, Clinical Medicine is the Provincial Brand Specialty and Medical Imaging is the National Characteristic Specialty. The postgraduate education starts from 2001, among which there are 6 master’s degree programs of first-level discipline.
In 2004, the college enrolled the first batch of international students of Clinical Medicine. In 2011, CTGU became one of the 52 authorized universities to recruit MBBS students (English medium) by the Ministry of Education (MOE). In 2014, CTGU was awarded the title “Demonstration base for international student education” by MOE. By now, the college has cultivated 635 international students who have been awarded the degree through the MBBS program. At present, there are more than 2,500 undergraduates, 550 undergraduates and 400 international students in the college.
The college has run MBBS program for 16 years, and has rich experience in cultivating international students. The college boasts good teaching and research platforms. Six hospitals bear the entitlement of third-grade class-A (top level in China) and have 6,652 beds and 3.78 million outpatients each year.

Tuition Fees: 23,000 RMB/year
Eligibility
1.18-30 years old; a foreign passport holder;
2. MBBS or equivalent degree, registered at Medical Council authority;
3. For instruction in English, applicants whose native language is not English are required to provide IELTS Academic (no less than 6.0), TOEFL (for internet based, no less than 80) or equivalent English test results. Applicants whose native language is English are required to provide English transcript and certificate of English as instruction issued by the applicant’s undergraduate university.
4. For instruction in Chinese, applicants are required to provide HSK 4 certificate.
5. Chinese friendly; in good physical and mental health, no criminal record; hardworking; academic excellent.
Accommodation
The international students’ apartments are well equipped with furniture like air conditioner, bath and bedding facilities and broadband for internet.

Notes: The College doesn’t provide scholarship, but the candidate may apply for the government’s scholarship. For the details, the candidate may consult with the Admission Office before submitting application.
Application steps
1. Student submits application at: http://lsx.ctgu.edu.cn/;
2. The university’s Admission Office checks the application; if agrees, Admission Office sends the application to the related college;
3. The related college double checks and evaluates the application(interview will be made); and then gives feedback to Admission Office;
4. Admission Leading Group makes the decision; if agreed, the applicant’s documents will be send to the superior departments;
5. After the superior departments agree, Admission Office will confirm post address with the candidate.
Notes: The entire process takes about 45 days.
