About CTGU
Located in Yichang City, Hubei Province, CTGU is a comprehensive university jointly built by the Ministry of Water Resources and the People's Government of Hubei Province. In 2018, CTGU was selected to be developed into first-class universities in China by the provincial government. CTGU consists of 22 colleges and 80 undergraduate programs covering nine fields including science, engineering, liberal art, medicine, economics, management, law, education and art. There are 7,552 doctoral candidates and postgraduates, 23,964 undergraduates and 1,500 international students of CSC Scholarship, Provincial Government Scholarship, Enterprise Scholarship and self-funded.
CTGU is a member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the permanent secretariat unit of N.E.W.S. It has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with more than 170 universities in more than 60 countries and regions. CTGU is the largest in terms of the number of international students and majors, with English as instruction language, among Hubei provincial universities.


About College of Basic Medical Sciences
The college has 2 undergraduate majors including Clinical Medicine and Medical Imaging, among which, Clinical Medicine has been selected into the National First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Program, Medical Imaging is the National Characteristic Major and has been selected into the Provincial First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Program. The postgraduate education starts from 2001, among which there are 2 master’s degree programs of first-level discipline including Basic Medicine and Clinical Medicine. Clinical medicine ranks in the top 1% of ESI disciplines.
In 2004, the college enrolled the first batch of international students majoring in Clinical Medicine. In 2011, CTGU became one of the 45 authorized universities to recruit students of Clinical Medicine (English medium) by the Ministry of Education (MOE). In 2014, CTGU was awarded the title “Demonstration base for international student education” by MOE. By now, the college has cultivated 784 international students who have been awarded the degree of Clinical Medicine (English medium). At present, there are more than 2,000 undergraduates, 700 postgraduates and 300 international students in the college.
The college has run the program of Clinical Medicine (English medium) for 19 years, and has rich experience in cultivating international students. The college boasts good teaching and research platforms. Six hospitals bear the entitlement of third-grade class-A (top level in China) and have 6,652 beds and 3.78 million outpatients each year.
